Staying close

29th March 2013

Escaping can be a challenge in the winter months. Light is not only sparse but despite an early rise it seems to evaporate by midday. For this reason during the darkest months on a few occasions I found myself strolling more locally to make the most of the it.

Cruising the DLR I spent some time in the east of the smoke exploring and meeting the locals. This image is from a walk in January ( I think). I noticed this man completely at ease in his surroundings. He was so calm and absorbed in his relaxation, time was an irrelevance and it was immediately clear he was a local resident. It was also strange how his dog almost melted into the ground like camouflage.
