MedPhoto is a grassroots collective project about photography and visual arts in Greece, which has derived from a meeting of diverse disciplines, i.e. photographers, designers, curators, scholars, writers and researchers. Their objective is to establish a cultural community and the cultivation of a radical social dialogue. In 2016, when their first festival took place on the island of Crete, under the theme “Borders / Crossroads”, they focused on the economic and refugee crisis in the Mediterranean and Europe. MedPhoto 2017-2018“Europe: The Faces and the Territory” looked into the new identities/diversities that are being born within this rapidly transforming European territory and into the potential of a common European identity, if such an identity exists as a potential or has already failed to exist.
The next group exhibition in 2019 ‘Images that Resonate’ will include some of my Young British Naturist series at Museum of Contemporary Art of Crete, Greece, that will take place from October 2019 to January 2020.
