The red painted corner shop .
Snacks , clusters of friends .
A tornado tore through Manenberg once.

The bendy fence behind the church where the boys lean and pass around cigarettes.
He can’t cross the road or he will be shot.

Shadows from clean washing dance across the court floor.
She bends down to observe a yellow daising bursting through the cement.

When I look back at this image I can smell the sweet summer Cape Town breeze, hear the chatter of tiny voices and the fury of the car wash event.
Tunes blasting and a braai ablaze. Wish I was back with you at Project Hope. oao x
